Insul-Wrap is the leading fan-fold underlayment in the Northeast. A region where insulation is a big consideration of homeowners. Fan-fold insulation as the name suggests is an accordion folded rigid insulation. Made in bundles 4′ x 24′ in various thickness’, it is scored every 2′ along its length to allow it to be unfolded as it is being installed. The 24’length reduces the number of butt edges seams, which improve insulative qualities.Insul-Wrap truly is a better choice. The discovery of Tyvek® was a chance occurrence by a DuPont researcher, Jim White, who in 1955 noticed white polyethylene fluff coming out of a pipe in a DuPont experimental lab. A program to develop the new material was set up, and a year later DuPont submitted a patent proposal for strong yarn linear polyethylene.The proprietary flash-spinning technology, which is the basis for what was to become DuPont’s new engineered sheet structure, took several more years to perfect. In 1959, a pilot facility was established for trial applications such as book covers, tags, labels and certain garments. In 1965, the new engineered sheet structure was registered under the trademark name Tyvek®, but it was not until April 1967 that commercial production of Tyvek® started.

Adding insulation to your attic is a blast with the AttiCat^® Insulation Blowing Machine! It conditions the AttiCat^® Expanding Blown-In PINK Fiberglas^™ Insulation by breaking it up and fluffing it, adding millions of the tiny air pockets that give the material its insulating power. The insulation is conditioned further throughout the length of the hose, and as it bounces its way up to your attic, more and more air pockets are added, increasing its insulating power even more. And since Fiberglas^™ insulation will not settle, it will keep its energy-saving R-value over time.
